Can i play with madness - riding in the rain

Monsoon started full blast and you get the feeling to go all out and get wet! When you got to go..you just go !!! Didn't think if the petrol tank was full ( can catch a petrol pump on the way).My wife accompanied me. Enjoyed the thumping Royal Enfield Bullet ride, amazing droplets hitting the face and the bike splashing water all across .... lovely! :)

And then the bike engine stops - in the rain. Perfect day eh?

My Bullet has never let me down all the 15 years! It always gets started.Trust. However, my wife did give the Bullet a push for the first time in her life trying to get it started :)

Humanity is alive still! Thanks to the guy who lent me some petrol and refused Paytm. Thanks to Shehzad for telephonic troubleshooting. Another guy who stopped to offer to find a mechanic and did come back and tell me the mechanic location a kilometer away. Thank you !! :)

But hey... remember the Bullet never lets me down and it gets started amazingly - and wow ... we are back to riding and splashing in the rain back to home.

Great day! Amazing fun. Try playing with madness ( But have enough petrol ;)

Cheers!

Riding solo

Riding solo

Motorbiking with friends is always welcome and it feels great to know that someone is there to help out in the case of a flat tire, engine problems or whatever. Friendly assurance and peace of mind- So nice isn’t it?

To experience the real thrill and spirit of motor biking, take off on a solo ride. Cut the threads that bind you. Burn the dependencies. Free yourself. Just you, your motorbike, your issues, and your route – You command yourself. No strings at all. Just pack and take off. Preferably don’t plan much – some high-level directions and know the dusk stoppage point.

As you take off solo, you will immerse yourself in the elements of risk to be managed by yourself and probably share the new company of loneliness. You will emerge with improved confidence. Riding along, your issues and worries are likely to float into your thought train. Get a grip and do not let it distract and you could get solutions, new insights, and perspectives.

Solo riding is not as bad as you think. It will make you realize that the world is a friendlier place. Ride off to the rural areas, far off from the maddening materialistic city life. Appreciate the curious looks of what and why of people around you. Seek assistance and see how glad people are to be of help. It will reassure you of human values and humanity. Stop. Go out of your way to help someone. As you take rest at dusk, you can introspect and also wonder what to do with time. Probably it’s not passing at the same speed as before.

This is a motivational article on solo motorbike riding which can be a very rewarding experience besides giving each one their personal space and time. If you are kick started on it, other things like riding safe and keeping dear ones informed will easily fall in place.

Take care of your motorbike and it will take care of you as well. So when do you start?

Ride safe.

Cheers!

The Shine on project - BT Royal Enfield Bullet CI

Hi friends,

If you managed to come to this page first of all.. thank you! Today no one seems to have time to read blogs and prefer just to see a dumb pic and kiss its derriere with a 'like button'. No offence to Fz#@$%burgers anywhere ;)

Very few of us have a bike that is in top notch condition even after 15 years and I have joined the club powered by my RE 350 Bullet Cast Iron engine. So I thought time to -

Renew.Re-energize.Get the Shine back.

I turned back to our good old time-proven philosophy passed on from our ancestors of "I don't want to spend money" ( or rather the secret truth is I didn't have money for this jig)

Trump and Hump may rhyme in the USA, but I decided to go with the acronym -KISS.... ( Keep It Simple Stupid) design philosophy inspired by the US Navy.

The philosophy inspired me to go for the bare basics approach without any frills. The motorbike was painted without mounting the engine off the frame. The project in pics below. Thanks, Shehzad @ Bikers clinic [https://www.facebook.com/bikersclinic]

Enfield Bullet on the wall

No confusion with Pink Floyd and the wall :) I have always been amazed and even now continue to be amazed at the infinite possibility of modifying and using the Royal Enfield Bullet. If you notice, most of the bikes remain and continue to be used as is without much mods - Ducati , Harley, Triumph .... Ya - You see them on the road - and you know.

Enfield Customizaton is a joy to watch and the use of the Bullet in its various art forms.

My good friend Jayan S R in Bangalore sent me these pics from a fwd. The artist is Chetan Sharma who came up with this amazing idea. I'm not sure where this is and I shall update it as soon as I come to know details

Look at the brilliance below..probably the guy thought.... hmmm  Oh an old Enfield!  Hmm what can I do different ? Aha there I'm building my boundary wall.. well swell ... Let me place it among the cement in the wall !

Just see what we have here ....  Voila !

See the brilliance ... Lovely !

Thanks Jayan for these pics and I look forward for more details.

Jayan SR is an awesome rider and has a stable of  bikes from RD350 to RE CI 500 to KTM. Great to know him and is a source of  inspiration.

Cheers
